In fact it is best to play on the floor, since cards often go flying once play starts. Players hold the remainder of their deck in one of their hands during play. There are no turns taken in this game, everyone plays at the same time. When both players are ready, one of them says "spit" and immediately each player takes the top card from his deck and plays it to the center of the table. These first cards should be far away from each other, forming two play piles between the players.
Players immediately begin playing their cards from their layout onto the center piles. A card can be played only if it is one higher or one lower than the card on the top of the pile.
The card's suit does not matter, and an ace can be played high or low. Example: One could play the 9 from the layout on the 10 pile since it is one lower in sequence. A player may only use one hand to move a card and may only play one card at a time. Many times both players can play a card on the same pile. In that case the player who gets there first gets the play and the other player must take back their card.
This race to play out the cards can get very exciting! Cards played from the layout row may immediately be replaced by a new card from the top of the deck. The players continue to rapidly play cards to the center and replace cards in their rows until all players get "stuck" and cannot make a play. Often several dozen cards can be played before all players get stuck.
When all players are stuck, they say "ready, spit," and again deal new starter cards to the top of each pile in the center. Play then continues as before. When a player has played all the cards in their deck, they must continue play using only the cards left in their layout even though he will not have a card to "spit" with if all players get stuck. The other player collects the spit pile and all the unplayed stockpile cards. The first player to play all their spit cards and cards in their layout wins.
In speed, each player keeps in their hand no more or less than five cards which are kept secret from their opponent. They also have a stockpile to draw from. Play cards on the face-up spit piles after a card has been played, draw a new one. To deal, place 10 cards on either end, face-down, and two cards in the middle.
These cards remain face-down until both players have received their cards and are ready to play. Players get 15 cards each. Some versions use only 5 cards on the side piles and each player then gets 20 cards.
After drawing five cards from your personal stockpile, both players flip over one of the single cards in the center of the layout. From the five cards in their hand, try to play on the spit piles. Cards can be played if they are either one higher or lower in rank than the card played upon. If you run out of plays to make and have fewer than 5 cards in hand, draw from your stockpile and continue playing. If both players reach an impasse and cannot make a play, despite having five cards in hand, slip one card face-up from the side piles on to the spit pile beside it.
Continue doing this until one player is able to play. If these side piles run dry, take the cards from the spit pile below the top card , shuffle and create new side piles. There are no special options for Spit, speed is determined by selecting an opponent :. This game is currently not ready for playing, it's in beta testing right now, we'll announce when it's ready.

Spit also known as Speed or Slam is a shedding game for two players. The objective is to be the first player to get rid of all your cards. The game is based on speed, it's not turn based, both players are getting rid of their cards at the same time, so the one that plays faster will most often win. The game starts with each player getting 26 cards. Each player takes 15 of their cards and arranges them in 5 stacks. The remaining 11 cards are kept in a down facing stack to the right of the 5 stacks, we'll call that the deck.
Gameplay When both players are ready they take the top cards from their deck and place them face up in the middle of the table, next to each other. This forms two discard piles. The players are then supposed to put as many cards as they can, as fast as they can on top of the discard piles.
Both players can put cards onto both piles, the piles don't belong to a particular player. When you put a card on a discard pile it must be either one higher or one lower than the top card on the pile. There are a few moves you can make:. During this part of the game the important thing is to play as fast as you can, move cards around to open up as many of your cards as you can and get rid of them.
At some point both players will be stuck and can't make any more moves. When that happens the game will tell you to click on your deck, and then both you and the computer players will move one card from the top of your decks onto the discard piles. As soon as the new cards are there you can go back to getting rid of your cards as fast as you can until you're both stuck again or one of you has finished all his stacks.
When one player has finished all the cards in his stacks the round is finished.
