97 powerstroke auto to manual swap

The sheet I got from Lextech doesnt list a grey connector but shows "c3" as white and lists pin 13 as "not used" and does not list a color. I can wire in a clutch switch if I need to but I'd need to know how. If I need to I can just have the abuse mode bumped up or removed right? I'd think the tuner can do that. Post by Whipped » Sun Sep 07, am The 2 wire switch on the transfer case is for your front differential lock. That shouldn't be to big of a deal to figure out but your 4 wheel drive will never work without it.

As for the auto to manual swap I'm not much help. Post by chillman88 » Mon Sep 08, am Yeah I figured that's what the transfer case wires were for. I plan on figuring out how to wire the front actuator with a toggle switch but I have the old thermal one and I want to get the new electric motor one first.

Thanks to Hog I started digging into the clutch pedal position switch. I found almost no information on it, but it turns out if I give pin 35 on C1 blue battery voltage it will rev up! Any suggestions on where to tap into that under the hood? I can use a relay if need be. So happy it finally runs! According to wiring diagrams I saw, the CPP switch should be a ground circuit wired to pin 32 Bliue connector.

Apparently some older trucks have a brown wire from the clutch switch but I don't know what signal that wire gives, I just saw it in a thread on here. If anyone knows let me know. I'm thinking it was an s10 they were referring to in that thread.

Post by orange ss » Thu Sep 11, pm Are you sure the CP Anticipate switch is to supposed to deliver ground when the pedal is depressed? To purchase online click here. The package above forms a system is designed to replace an automatic transmission Behind a Cummins Diesel. All of the major components needed are supplied for this conversion, with the exception of the clutch pedal assembly. These parts are available from the dealer, or if you prefer, a junkyard.

You will want the stock bracket, pedals and linkage components from your same-year stick-equipped vehicle. The master cylinder we supply will fit this assembly. If desired for convenience, we can attempt to source these parts from a dealer, however most likely at a higher cost than you can buy them direct from the dealer. Dodge Cummins Trucks with auto transmissions: were supplied with a 23 spline input on the transfer case.

All of the Factory Dodge Cummins 5 speed applications were 29 spline into the transfer case. The 29 spline shaft is stronger than the 23 spl shaft, and the auto trans with the torque converter does tend to cushion the output of the trans from the heavy torque pulses generated by the Cummins diesel. Once it warms up. Goes into gear and no slips.. Have been thinking of doing a Trans service just to see if that would help.

Doesn't sound like that will help from all the threads on the autos. The Manual swap sounds very interesting to me not only on costs, but possible taller gearing for Highway cruising Bleached Bora need to touch base there Is that Bora Parts?. Here is an interesting shop I have heard of but no referals.

Anybody know about this place? TGOLF said:. My K mile auto is showing the 'signs'. Last edited: Apr 8, Ok so I have an original 01M with miles, still going good but I know someday hopefully not for a while ill have to replace it. I have been pondering the manual swap and weighing out my options.

After the swap have any of you experienced problems with anything or has everything worked as it should? CoolAirVw Vendor. NICK said:. I'll figure it out when the time comes It's actually not that complicated. I've managed to give two of the 01M's away that I've swapped out the other seven I had to haul to the scrap yard Revv Member. Anyone experianced near wv? I also have a 01 jetta tdi with a automatic transmission that is starting to fail. I would really like to do the swap myself however I do not have the time or space to do the work.

Is there anyone experienced near West Virginia? I see that it costs around 3 to 5 grand to do the swap, I would really like to have a 6 speed, but a 5 would do fine.
