Some time evil spirit is captures men and disturb whole life. This experience period is ten years. I read bible many times and prayed regular… 3. I was liked magic and believed. I disliked pastor. I did not like baptism when any body took baptism and I felt this is funny method.
Someone called me and told me to take baptism but I ignored. He calls me again and again but I ignore and six month gone. Pastor prayed for me. And he prayed for many days then he give me baptism then we went on canal he give me baptize.
Now I see many evil spirits they see me and run way. We dressed up in Native costume or as close as possible and decorated our tables. The community was invited to come in for fellowship and to sample the cuisine. It was very well received and we have volunteers from those who attended to help us do it again next year. This is a very popular program. Also, our hearth guild has long prepared meals for parisioners with shortterm needs and supports Meals-on-Wheels for longer term needs.
Thank you! Can be done at a campsite, too. The rabbit, or rabbits, hide. Hunters hunt. Many variations possible. My personal favorite is using fire hoses to push an earth ball, or beach ball across the opponents goal line. Can get rough. My pastor recently challenged me to come up with an effective outreach idea for our community. He said to use the things I have been through in the past to lead the way.
I have been through so much before being saved I dont know where to begin. I am a recovering addict, I lived a life of violence, alcoholism …you name it.
Living in an abusive household as a child probably had something to do with the lifestyle I used to live and choices that were made. Hi Chuck. All you need to start is a couple guys with some tool skills or it can be as simple as a yard cleanup. Those who most need repair help are typically widows, elderly, single moms and homeowners.
A great service opportunity within your church and a great outreach opportunity to your community. Eight Fire departments competed each year for a 6 foot trophy. We started with a service at on Sunday morning preaching the gospel and honoring our local Fire men. We followed up with a hog roast Sunday dinner followed by an afternoon of spectator friendly competition.
I can give you more details if you are interested. If you have any Ideas send them to cblackmon0 gmail. Thank you. Philipians Most will also lend themselves to youth or children events. This certainly is a great list of ideas! Another great thing for churches to do for outreach is making available free Christian ecards that congregants can easily send out.
Send these ecards to first-time visitors, sick, etc. The other great thing is the cards will have your church name on the card…now Blue Mountain, Hallmark or other ecard providers.
Dear servants of the lord, Greetings in the name of the Lord. I am absolutely glad with the work that you have established in your website and may the Lord bless you. I am a pastor of a small church of about 49 members. Our church is independent and we love to be part of you. All the time we have been praying for God to direct us to His servants who can be willing to accept us to be part of them and I thank Him for his mighty connection to your ministry.
I believe by faith you will accept us to be part of you. Our church is fully dedicated to help and care needy people in our congregation like the widows, widowers and orphaned children. The little the church gets is not actually enough to meet all their needs. I also invite you to come here in Kenya and visit the church and orphans.
Any question is welcome. May the lord bless you as I look forward to hear from you. Wonderful evening had by all. This list is so helpful. We are a small church looking for ideas to spur our growth.
Can not image what these are about. Great ideas listed ….. Sally, thanks and glad this is helpful. A lock out is the opposite of a lock in — an all-night youth event. But instead if staying locked at a church youth are locked out and spend all night going from activity to activity usually transported on a church bus. Angel food ministry no longer exists as an organization but it was a wholesale provider of food boxes thru local churches.
Trunk or treat is a Halloween event where a church or organization invites members or groups to park in their parking lot, decorate their cars and trucks, and give out candy and do games, etc. Dear precious servants of God, Holy greetings to you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord, savior and redeemer.
Grace to you and peace from our Father and Lord Jesus Christ. After prayerfully reading your pages, I was spiritually charged, moved and thrilled since I came to realize that we shared a common faith in the Lord.
By so doing we practice Bible studies, Prayer and evangelism to various areas to meet and restore more lost souls. Besides the Gospel, we are involved in pity and compassionate ministries. We are taking care of orphans and 9 widows. It would be great for you will have a chance to teach your sound doctrine to us, preach, baptize and also establish your mission work here in Kenya.
I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy for we are hoping to be in fellowship with you. May the peace and grace which cometh fro from Jesus Christ who hath loved and gaveth us everlasting consolation be with you.
I you wish to send us any books that can help us spritually,i will appreciate very much together with my Church members. Please, use the following adress. Hi colleagues, its great article about tutoringand completely defined, keep it up all the time.
These are great ideas for outreach. The church has so many opportunities to touch their community and world. And they can use their website to provide information on the different outreaches they have, whether its a garage sale or a weekly fellowship group for single parents. Many in the community will check them out online before they come in person.
An after school program where a snack is provided and volunteers help kids do their homework would be a huge help, and could be a great neighborhood outreach. Dear Servant of God, I am absolutely happy to send you my heartfelt greetings.
I feel as if my feet are not touching the ground because of what I have received from you and to crown it all the wonderful beautiful and uplifting conversion in the word of your website. I was so touched and I really embrace your life changing website I have read it and it has indeed convicted my heart and a burden has been laid in me until I have been forced through the grace of the Lord to write to you, thank and encourage you for what the Lord is using you for.
I will never cease to pray for you and I wish you were here to help us grow to the stature of our Lord Jesus Christ.. Stir up the gift of God which is in you and we need you for eight days to teach the word of God. Set yourself apart for these eight days and nights and come ready to share with the saint of God. There will be preaching, teaching, and demonstration of the Holy Spirit and power. Doors will open one hour prior to each service. Following the Monday-Saturday morning services, we will conduct Power Evangelism classes — teaching effective methods of reaching the harvest of God and doing soul wining.
Please, if you are ready let us know when you are coming with your team our leaders invite you to teach them. We are on our knees praying for you so that you may assist us to know more about the riches of Christ in Heaven.
You are needed brother. You really have what we need for our spiritual growth. Peace and blessings. Yours Co-laborer in Christ, our church are young lack of need i think you now.
National language week, is a great opportunity to awaken the poetic hearts and traditions of the locals by organizing a poetry presentation or contest. Old people would really showcase their talents and reminisce their heydays.
Youth GIG! We set our church as a library and learning center during weekdays for students to study and have free tutorials. Reblogged this on The Walk and commented: This is a great list of things. Not for the folks needing a neighborhood garden. View what you have with the hopefulness and creativity that the Holy Spirit inspires in all of us.
God and your neighborhood are not waiting for something to be perfect before it can have great purpose. Rediscover the resources you already have. Much like the treasures we rediscover when we spring clean, we may sometimes forget that we already have something in our toolkit that can help our outreach efforts.
Do not be afraid to explore the nooks and crannies to see what is already available. Often, when staff or programs change, things get lost or put away in the shuffle, and rediscovering them feels like finding something new.
Go explore. Let their answers shape your approach to outreach. Partner with a local agency such as a recovery group or a fitness and health organization, to see if your building might be a good fit for community classes, meetings, or more.
Start a neighborhood garden. Reimagine an old truck or van as a food truck. Stop waiting on the right idea or event! What is holding you back from going into your community and hanging some door hangers?
Get a map, make some door hangers, set a time on a Saturday, get some people from your church and turn your town upside down!!!!!!! Be consistent!
We reached every home in our town of 9, homes and are doing it again! And we will do it again and again! People need reached! Souls need saved! Time is running out! You don't have to beat them over the head with the Bible just tell them God loves them and invite them to church. There are FREE templates on this site for door hangers, postcards etc.
If your church has nice grounds, or even a good-sized parking lot, you can put on an incredible block party. This is a great opportunity for a larger reach.
I have a Catholic church in my town that has been doing this for more than 20 years. There are also food booths and games for the kids. Lots of families are looking for safe, fun things to do on Halloween. This is a wonderful way for your church to step up to the plate. If your church would prefer not to have anything to do with Halloween, you can host a harvest party and provide games, snacks, and candy.
This can provide you with an opportunity to get to know parents as their kids play. You can also put on a Trunk or Treat where people from the church gather in the parking lot, fill their decorated trunks with candy, and allow kids to trick or treat at all the cars. Trunk and Treats are generally well attended, but it can be kind of chaotic and hard to make genuine connections with visitors. If the church or a church member has an acre or more of garden-worthy land, you can put together a public garden.
A well-run community garden can really pull people together, and it can also provide some food for local shelters and food pantries. You can change that! Find a way to do showings of local art in your church.
You can do it all the time and feature different artists in your fellowship area, or you can feature multiple artists at bigger events throughout the year. Is your church surrounded by businesses? Why not set up some barbecues in the parking lot and offer working people free lunches once a week?
You can even deliver! But if you set up well, it can give you an opportunity to get to know some of the people working near your church and help you build relationships with local businesses. Why not open your church up as a daycare for a Friday or Saturday night, and allow local families to drop off their kids so that they can go out and having a child-free date? All you need is a couple of adults, some teenagers, snacks, and activities to keep kids occupied.
There is a lot of need in your community. And when your church steps up to raise money for one of them, that is, in itself, outreach.
Stepping out like this represents a significant risk. Make sure that you have someone with a firm grasp on project management, fundraising, and marketing before you decide to step into this area. An online donations tool like Pushpay can also be very helpful as you raise money for a local cause. Empower people to donate online or on their mobile phones at any time, regardless of wether they have cash on them or if they are able to attend a weekly service. This can be a fun and meaningful outreach idea that can let your current congregation know the value you place on everyone that has worshiped with you.
But this can be a really meaningful opportunity for healing and to communicate the importance of forgiveness and community. Is there a local, national, or international event that has really impacted your city? Plan a mid-week evening service with themed worship, communion, and a relevant message. You can see great examples of this among the churches who opened their doors after the terrorist attacks of September 11, With enough notice, many from the organization will attend.
Maybe you can even take up a special offering for them! This service could be for students who have led an important fundraiser or volunteered at a charity event, the staff at a local soup kitchen or homeless shelter, or a business that has developed a reputation for giving back.
