I sold it to him for I think it was a fair price. Thank you for all the useful advice. I disagree, that may be the case for the last years, however mine was purchased in and is a professional grade instrument.
I earned a music degree with this horn and am an active professional musician. If you're referring to the Selmer Omega model from the 's, I definitely concur with you. This was marketed as a pro sax back then and was the product of a design collaboration between Selmer USA and Paris. The Selmer Signet, on the other hand, was produced a bit earlier and was always considered to be an intermediate model, the best horn that Selmer USA made before they came out with the Omega line.
S axophone P eople. What model is my selmer? Sometimes the first batch of horns with a given change could be followed by later horns that go back and have the older features. I have a Selmer Paris tenor saxophone serial No Can you please clarify if this a cigar cutter or model 26 please?
This is probably a New Largebore tenor at that serial range. I am guessing he bought it sometime around to just a guess. I was looking to upgrade my YAZ model and he was moving. So he sold me his As Serial Now I was online looking to see when this was made and what the Value maybe. I checked all the normal Cat abd serial web sites but I have had no luck. If anyone has any info or a possible web site that has this info.
Thank would be great!! Please email it to me. Thanks a bunch! Smitty [email protected]. Hi I have a silver plate selmer with two numbers. One on the bell No and one on lower body C Which is the serial number and what is this horn please? Thanks for info and help Regards Ed.
Hi Ed, Earlier Selmers had a body serial number that was used for keeping track of different body tubes, but that is not used to date the saxophones in the Selmer archives. Probably that would be a New Largebore. Check out my other article breaking down Selmers by model.
I just picked up a Series III, serial number Looed at the neck but could not find any numbers. Only on the bottom of bell. Is this standard?
The neck serial goes away around k serial or so. So any Selmer after will not have a neck serial. There were 25 built between , so they are fairly uncommon.
My alto is: Also curious as to its value. Pan American saxophones. How much is this horn worth? I need a professional horn, but a Selmer Mark VI costs too much Do you know Pan American with Conn engraving? I saw a listing on all serial for all of Selmer American soprano saxophone.
